Does anyone know if this was reported at the time as an 'SAS' incident or just under normal army activity? Trying to recall something my grandfather did at the time.
Hi,
Depends which one your looking for, there were more than one. South Georgia and the ship to ship transfer ? With largest single loss of life 'SAS that is.
Thanks Dave, it was the ship to ship - I remember my grandfather (2 SAS) sitting with two whiskeys at home and only drinking the one, leaving the other for those lost. Think this is a tradition. I knew it was around this time but didn't know when it was actually reported that the guys were SAS. Sad day no matter what.
