.Hart, Geoffrey Arthur William, Sergeant M66360- Bronze Star Medal. Awarded 19 August 1944
For Heroic achievement in action 2 June 1944 near Colle Ferro Italy.
During an attack on the town, Sergeant Hart's Company was subjected to horrific artillery shelling. Sergeant Hart, leader of a rocket launcher crew was wounded in the shoulder by shrapnel. Despite severe pain he refused treatment and remained in command of his crew until his company was relieved the following day.
Aggressively leading his men in combat, Sergeant Hart contributed materially to the effectiveness of his section during the action. His determination to remain in the fight despite his wound was an inspiration to his men and his performance reflects credit upon himself and the Allied Forces
